Adult Sunday School
Members of the Aldersgate class are “experienced adults,” committed to life-long learning, service to church and community and fellowship with and support of each other. Class sessions are led by various class members and invited guests, usually for a month at a time, including topics selected by the leaders on understanding and appreciating scripture, Christian living, doctrinal studies, church history, etc. Room 16 East Adult Hall from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.

An aptly named adult class of couples and singles (mostly in their 60’s), some of whom have been together 40 years. The group welcomes newcomers with open arms and seeks to bear one another’s burdens and share each other’s joys. Rotating teachers lead Bible study through the Cokesbury Adult Bible series. Members strive to put their faith into practice through Meals on Wheels, the Desiard Street Shelter, Methodist Menders, and church mission trips. South Adult Hall from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.

The Men’s Bible, originally known as the Young Men’s Bible Class, began over 50 years ago. The class presently has ten members. Of these members there are several War veterans. We enjoy singing old hymns each Sunday before beginning class and honor individual member’s birthdays by singing “Happy Birthday.” We continue to study God’s word and its application to our lives. Our class donates annually to the Methodist Children’s home, the Louisiana Food Bank, and participates in Meals on Wheels. We welcome visitors of all ages! Room 8 East Adult Hall from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.
We call our class the Oasis because we want to be a place to come for refreshment and renewal after a hectic week. We come to refuel by studying the Bible through the Adult Bible Study series. Rotating teachers lead us in discussion where we share our thoughts and ideas. We come to find encouragement and support as we share each others joys and sorrows. We enjoy each others fellowship through fun social gatherings. We put our faith to work by participating in such ministries as J-Force, STAIR, Greeters ministry, home-bound visitation, the Pumpkin Patch, Meals on Wheels, Family Promise, Life Choices, and Habitat for Humanity. If you are looking for an Oasis in the midst of your busy life, we invite you to ours. Room 22 South Adult Hall from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.
The Sunshine class is a group of young at heart seniors. They study the bible through the Cokesbury adult Bible series. Library - East Adult Hall from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.
Our membership is made-up of couples and singles that are a variety of ages. The Bible is our textbook. Since we began just over five years ago, we have been viewing the history of God’s activities recorded in the old testament. Old testament history is God’s story, and his story is awesome and never boring! In addition to occasional socials, members participate in the ministries of the church. In December we empty our treasury to support worldwide ministries such as: World Vision Projects, American Bible Society and Smile Train. We also support community ministries as well as provide Christmas gifts for a needy family. We invite you to bring your bible and join us! Room 6 East Adult Hall from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.
