Young-at-heart seniors enjoy singing, Bible study, community service projects, fellowship, and monthly get-togethers.

Middle adults study the Bible and its application to contemporary living emphasizing inquiry and discourse.

Mature women follow the Cokesbury Adult Bible Study series, enjoy caring friendship, and occcasional socials.

Friendship

An aptly named adult (mostly 50's and 60's) class of couples and singles, some of whom have been together 40 years. the group welcomes newcomers with open arms and seeks to bear one another's burdens and share each other's joys. Rotating teachers lead Bible study through the Cokesbury Adult Bible series. Members strive to put their faith into practice through Meals on Wheels, the Desiard Street Shelter, Methodist Menders, and church mission trips.

Genesis

Married couples with school age children pursue various studies related to Christian living. Members work in many areas of the church such as greeting, ushering, teaching Sunday School. The class participates in outreach and mission areas of the church such as adopted families at Christmas, Dixie Dihard Buddies, Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and Pumpkin Patch.

Generation Hope

Single and married young adults seek guidance from God's word and ways to apply it to daily living. They participate in outreach through Meals on Wheels and mission trips.

Men's Bible

Mature men focus on Bible study with spirited discussions.

Room 6  East Adult Hall

Oasis

Bible topics are the focus of this discussion based mixed adult class.  Members participate in many outreach ministries, including Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Greeters Ministry, Pumpkin Patch, and others. Social gatherings are enjoyed periodically.

Room 22  South Adult Hall

Pairs and Spares

This active group of mid-aged adults explores various Christian living topics inviting, lively discussions. The class sponsors the Fall Fest for missions and supports the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home.

Room 24 A  South Adult Hall

The View

This is a Bible class for adults who want to learn more about the Scriptures.  The class enjoys occasional get-togethers and participates in congregational mission projects as well as class projects.  The class is led by a dedicated teacher.  Why not join us in Room 21 and let's grow together in the Scriptures.

Women's Ministy

United Methodist Women

Monthly meetings for study, mission projects at the local, state, national, and internation levels, and caring fellowship. Sponsors of the annual Pumpkin Patch in October. Contact the church office for a contact person for each circle.

Circle II 2nd Tuesday 7:00 p.m.

Circle III 2nd Tuesday 6:30 p.m.

Circle VI 2nd Tuesday 9:30 a.m.

Exercise Class

A low-impact workout for ladies meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30-9:45 a.m. except during Summer. Stretching, strengthening, and range-of-motion activities as well as "lo-slo" aerobics.

BG's Bible Study

Meets monthly in member's homes in the evenings. Studies vary from parenting concerns to motivational themes. Thirtyish and fortyish women focus on bonding in the love of Christ.

Kindred Spirits

Meets from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. in the church parlor. "Up before dawn" women's spiritual friendship small group. The studies are Bible based focusing on strengthening our spiritual lives.

Knitting Ministry

Meets Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in the Prayer Room. Beginning to advanced knitters knit items for Sager-Brown missions.

Scrapbooking

Do you enjoy scrapbooking? Are you a beginner or a seasoned scrapbooker? Do you wish you had a group that you could scrapbook with and a place to gather and share ideas? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to join our church scrapbooking group. We meet once a month, usually the  fourth Saturday of the month, in the Garden Room at the church, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. You can come for the entire time or part of the time, whatever your schedule will allow. Childcare is provided for those who need it. Bring your friends or other family members who would like to come. Women's Bible Study

Throughout the year special studies are offered to women of all ages.  For your convenience, each study is offered three times per week.  These times are as follows: Tuesday from 10:00-11:00, noon - 1:00 or 6:00-7:00.  For more information concerning an upcoming study, or to have your name added to the "notification mail-out," please call the church office (318-325-7335)

Young Women

Meet in member's homes one evening a month to fellowship and pursue Christian living studies concerning balancing busy lives and bonding in the heart of God.
We are open to forming new women's small groups to meet the needs of our women. Please contact Eva Colvin at the church if you are interested.
Christian Service and Fellowship Opportunities

Volunteers

Nursery Volunteers, Ushers, Homebound and Hospital Lay Visitation teams, greeters, Teach Sunday School or small groups, youth chaperones, Vacation Bible School leaders, Children's choir leader, serve as a sound, lighting or computer technician, cook for special events, join the Outreach team (contact the church for many other opportunities).

90+ Celebration
Each year FUMC honors those in our church family who have experienced at least 90 years of life!  This reception, which is held on a Sunday during the month of June, gives the congregation the opportunity to say "thank you" to those who have added such love and wisdom to the life of our church.

Basketball

We take part of a church basketball league in Feb/March. Schedules for bastketball games are posted under "Events and Stuff"

Softball

We take part of a church softball league in May/June. Schedules for softball games are posted under "Events and Stuff"

Golf

Churchwide Golf Tournament held in early June.

A nursery is provided free of charge for all church-wide events. Sitters and volunteers are trained each year to provide the best care possible.
