J-Force
What is J-Force?
J-Force is a program designed for children and youth in grades 1 through 8. It is an after school program on Wednesdays that caters to their school needs as well as Christian growth and learning through music and the worship arts. The J-force program is administered by our Minister of Music, Rev. Kem Alexander, and our Associate Director of Music, Mrs. Margaret Hall.
How do I register my child or youth?
Please contact Rev. Kem Alexander to register or you can complete a J-Force registration form located in the main hall or click here to register online.
What can my child expect from J-Force?
Volunteers who have been screened and cleared for work with children through our screening policy, pick up the children and youth from the different schools in the area and bring them to the church. Once at the church the children have a refreshing snack and time to get their all important homework done. Again, volunteers are on hand to help the children and youth with tutoring should they need it. For those children that do not have homework, other activities are offered such as Christian cartoons, art activities, etc.
After all homework is completed or the time allocated for homework is past, the children have a time for play on our state of the art playground.
Following play time the children come in for a time of music. The different age groups alternate between children’s choir and children’s hand chime choir.
For the youth, they will begin in the choir room for the music portion of the afternoon along with worship arts, including drama, art and movement. The youth will then continue on to the youth area for snack time and homework and an activity with our youth director.
Does my child or youth need to be a member of the church to attend?
All children and youth are welcome! We have a number of children and youth who attend with their friends.
