NEW WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY, “Courage, Dear Heart...Seven Things to Do in Preparation to Fulfill your Life’s Work,” will be meeting Wed. nights at 6pm in the Garden Room. This study is being led by Megan McClanahan and concludes Wed., August 9. Bring your Bible and a notebook! Contact Meredith Brown, Nursery Coordinator, if childcare is needed. Women of all ages are welcome to participate!
ADULT VOLUNTEER DRIVERS are needed to pick up senior adults, living in Monroe and West Monroe, on Sunday mornings so they may attend Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and worship at the 10:50 a.m. church service. No special driver’s license is required. Currently, we have a church member in West Monroe needing a ride. If you feel called to provide this service to our older adults, please contact Nannette Flowers at Nwhite@fumcmla.com or 325-7335.
MAYHAW JELLY, blueberry jelly and peach salsa that our Senior High Youth made is available for purchase at the OWL salsa and jelly table located by the church office door. Jelly is $6 and salsa is $5 a jar. Proceeds benefit the United Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston.
PONYTAIL CANASTA GROUP will play Monday, July 24 at 1 p.m. in the Garden Room for experienced players or those who want to learn. Plan to attend and invite a friend or two for some friendly competition and fellowship.
BRIDGE MINISTRY ACTIVITIES (completed 3, 4, 5th grade)
•SPLASH KINGDOM on July 26, 9 am at the church. Cost is $25 (includes lunch) Bring a towel, change of clothes, and money for snacks.
•5TH SUNDAY BRIDGE: Escape Room on July 30. Meet upstairs in the youth room after 10:50am worship until 2pm.
•WATER GAMES on August 2, 1-4pm in the Youth room. Bring a bathing suit, towel and shoes that can get wet.
•BACK TO SCHOOL BASH on August 9, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
REV. BILL MOON from Elizabeth Sullivan Memorial UMC in Bogalusa will lead a mission team on an extended weekend trip next week from Thursday, July 27, to Tuesday, August 1. The team will include approximately 12 adults and youth from his church as well as a couple of other congregations. They will reroof a home in West Monroe around Ridge Ave. Please be in prayer for them as our guests and fellow workers in Christ as it is our great pleasure to host them.
APPLICATIONS FOR THE GENEVA CASTLE SCHOLARSHIP for the fall semester must be turned in to the church office no later than Friday, July 28, 2017. You must submit a completed application each semester. In order to be considered for the fall semester, applications and spring grades must be submitted to Pastor Lynn Malone, 3900 Loop Road, Monroe, LA 71201. Applications may be picked up in the church office during regular business hours.

BOOK NOOK will meet Sunday, July 30 at 4:00 p.m. in the Parlor to read A Separate Peace by John Knowles. Autobiographical, this coming of age novel is set against the background of World War II. Copies are available from Nancy Meinel in the Aldersgate classroom.
